Description

What is Leatrix Latency Fix?

Leatrix Latency Fix is a standalone network optimization tool that reduces World of Warcraft latency by enabling TCP acknowledgment optimization in your operating system network stack.

Categorized under Miscellaneous, this addon is a must-have for players seeking to improve their World of Warcraft experience on private servers.

Key Features

  • TCP_NODELAY and TcpAckFrequency registry optimization for reduced packet delay
  • One-click installation with automatic system configuration
  • Measurable latency reduction typically between 10-50ms depending on connection
  • No in-game addon files required as changes are made at the operating system level
  • Safe uninstall option that restores original network settings
  • Compatible with Windows operating systems across all WoW client versions
  • Works alongside VPN and proxy connections without conflicts
  • Reduces input lag for ability activation and movement responsiveness

Why Leatrix Latency Fix is Essential

Every millisecond of latency affects your gameplay, from interrupt timing on boss encounters to reaction speed in PvP. Leatrix Latency Fix addresses a common Windows networking inefficiency where the OS batches TCP acknowledgments, adding unnecessary delay. The fix is especially noticeable for players with moderate ping who see immediate improvement in game responsiveness.

Supported Expansions

Leatrix Latency Fix is available for MoP, WotLK, Cataclysm, Classic, and TBC. Whether you play on a Classic private server or a modern expansion realm, this addon enhances your gameplay across all supported versions.

How to Install Leatrix Latency Fix

Run the Leatrix Latency Fix executable outside of WoW. Click Install, then reboot your computer for changes to take effect. The tool modifies Windows registry settings, so run it as administrator.

Installing Leatrix Latency Fix on a private server

Which version do you need?

Private servers run older game clients, and an addon only loads properly on the client it was built for. Pick the download that matches your server's client. To check an addon you already have, open its .toc file: the ## Interface: line should match the number below.

Install steps

  1. Download the Leatrix Latency Fix build for your client from the Downloads panel above.
  2. Extract the zip into Interface/AddOns inside your World of Warcraft folder. Create the AddOns folder if it doesn't exist yet.
  3. Check the folder name matches the .toc file inside it, for example AddOns/LeatrixLatencyFix/LeatrixLatencyFix.toc. Downloads from GitHub often add -master or -main to the folder name, which stops the addon from loading, and the 1.12.1 client is especially strict about this.
  4. Start the game and click AddOns on the character screen. Enable Leatrix Latency Fix, and tick Load out of date AddOns if it shows as out of date.

Lua errors right after installing almost always mean the build doesn't match your client. Delete the folder and download the version for your patch.
